Escribí la letra en un momento de conexión profunda con un final. Llore y me inundó un sentimiento de felicidad y tristeza: confusión. La letra está llena de contradicciones y del dolor que significa tener que matar esa parte de ti que lo significa todo, que incluso te define y te da una identidad. Matar al sol es morir para vivir. Es luchar contra ti mismo y salir victorioso."

"Matar al Sol to me is a song about an ending and a new beginning. But also about confusion and heartbreak. I wrote the lyrics during a time of deep connection with an ending. I cried and was filled with joy and sadness: confusion. The lyrics are full of contradictions and the pain that comes with having to kill that part of you that means everything, that can even define you and gives you and identity. Matar al Sol is to die in order to live. It is to fight against yourself and come out victorious."
